A visit to Genting Highland

Genting Highland, Pahang

As we know most of the Malaysia's shopping mall are similar to one another which might not be very attractive. But there is one shopping mall where it is located at hill top which is known as Genting Highland. This shopping mall is way more unique as compared to other shopping mall as the main unique factor is that the location of the mall which peoples need to drive up the hill to reach the destination. Do you ever wonder what can you do a whole day at this destination? Here are my suggestions below!

Gohtong Jaya, Pahang

Gohtong Jaya is located halfway of driving uphill. In this location, you can have you meal to fill your stomach as it is more inexpensive as compared to the foods in Genting. 66 Corner is one of the shop where quite a lots of people visit due to the Curry mee which is quite famous at that shop. But of course, if your are sensitive towards spicy food, there are still lots of other non-spicy foods such as "Dim Sum", chicken rice and so on. On that day me and my girlfriend ordered a plate of pork rice and a bowl of curry mee. Although the portion of the food is quite small but it still can fill our stomach for half of the day.

After our meal, we continue our journey up the hill and decided to visit Premium Outlets before visit Genting Highland. Once we reached Premium Outlet, we go for a window shopping and all of a sudden my girlfriend is craving for dessert.

Since, my girlfriend is craving for desserts, we head to Godiva to enjoy the taste of premium ice cream. In our opinion, we felt that the taste of the ice cream is quite nice as compared to other ice cream brand. Since the price we pay for was RM20+ for just a cone of ice cream, we do expect the taste should be better than other brand.

After finish our dessert, we continue to have a walk and browse some outlets like Nike, Adidas and etc. A lots of people stated that at this premium outlet, most of the things are more lower price as compared to other places which sell the same products. After we browsed few outlets, indeed it is lower price as compared to outlets from other shopping mall.

Genting Highland

After done browsing at Premium Outlet, we make a move to Genting Highland which is our main objective. We reached there around 3pm and it still quite warm and view is still very clear. Why do I said it is warm and clear? because this shopping mall is located at hill top which makes it very cold and foggy at night. We will get to that fog session later on! So when we reached Genting, we thought that we can go visit their outdoor theme park, but sadly it is still under construction.

Since outdoor theme park is under construction, we still can go for indoor theme park as well, although it might not be as fun as outdoor theme park. We browse around indoor theme park the decoration and lighting effect is quite beautiful. There are a lots of people queuing to play games, and this can be a spot for photography as well due to the background and lighting effects!

Visiting Genting the most important session is to visit their casino as in Malaysia this is the only one legal casino which is guarded by police at the entrance to check identity card if they suspect those that do not reach legal age to enter into casino. Even you do not gamble, you can still browse inside to know how is it looks like in the casino and can observe other people gamble. Gentle reminder, please do not addicted into gamble as it could ruin your life! Important note: I DID NOT GAMBLE, I JUST WENT IN TO TAKE PHOTOS!

After we came out from casino, it around 6 pm and we are hungry, so we decided to search for food at the rooftop. As we reach the rooftop, we start to see a lots of fog and the environment start to become colder. Since it is so cold at the rooftop, it makes us craving for hot pot and thus we decided to try "Beauty in The Pot" which is quite famous in Genting as a lots of people post photo on social media of them enjoying this hot pot. But after we were queuing, we heard the servant told the customers in front that they need to wait until after 11 pm for their turn. Once me and my girlfriend heard that, we felt very disappointed as we have to wait for few hours to eat in this hot pot. So we gave up and decided to go other place for hot pot.

As we on the way to our parking spot, I have search for hot pot nearby Genting Highland and saw this hot pot named " Ee Ping Steamboat Restaurant " which is located not far away from Genting in other word, it is located half way at the hill. As we reached this location, we order and enjoy our dinner at a lower price. If we were to eat at "Beauty in The Pot", it would be much more expensive as their charges is similar to HaiDiLao. After we finished our dinner, we continue our journey back home. When driving downhill, we must pay full attention and drive safe ! As the hill is quite decline and will be quite dangerous.

SHOPPING IN PAVILION, KUALA LUMPUR

Shopping Mall at Kuala Lumpur

The capital city of Malaysia is Kuala Lumpur, which is also the tourists attraction place. When you visit Kuala Lumpur especially Bukit Bintang, you will see lots of tourists shop around the area. In Bukit Bintang, there are a lots of delicious food and numbers of shopping malls. Thus, we pay a visit to Pavilion to provide a feedback about this mall.

Outside of Pavilion Shopping Mall

The outlook and design of Pavilion had nothing much special when compared to other shopping mall which located nearby the area, but the special things which attract tourists and even Malaysian to take selfie with is the fountain that is located right in front of the main entrance. Outside of Pavilion is just as simple as that from a first impression feedback. Now lets explore more inside of the Pavilion !

Inside of Pavilion Shopping Mall

Once you enter into Pavilion through the main entrance, you will came to this area where it is a big and round area which usually the roadshow or events are held at. From this area you can observe some of the shops from each floor which can slightly provide you ideas which shops that you want to visit.

This is where the roadshow were held at as this place had the highest traffic because it is the closest to the main entrance. Whenever a person enter into the mall, this is the first place that they will reach. This can be considered as a strategic place for large company to organize a roadshows or events for raising awareness.

Going deeper into the mall, you will observe more and more shops and most of the shops are usually branded or well-known brand. We Malaysians' first perception towards Pavilion shopping mall is that it is a mall that sell a lots of branded and luxury product. Throughout the exploration, here are some of the luxury and branded shops.

In Pavilion, their Parkson is not the same as other ordinary Parkson in other shopping mall, even it is named as Parkson "Elite" due to that it only sell luxury and branded brands such as MSGM, All Saints, Pinko and so on. There are a lots more luxury shops like Rolex, Versace, Kenzo, Patek Philippe, etc. Since every area that I visit is luxury and branded products, I cant afford to purchase or pay for anything other than paying just a visit.

After window shopping for about an hour, I decided to had our lunch in this mall. In this case, me and my girlfriend went to Tokyo street which is located in the top floor as we decided to eat Japanese food. When we reached Tokyo street, it indeed had the theme of Japan which makes me feel like it is different from the other area of the mall. So we browse around Tokyo street and there are small stalls that sell Japan fashion and also shops like Daiso and Sushi. Since there are several Japanese food shops located at that are, we are decided to had our lunch at the shop that had the longest queue (as we think delicious or inexpensive will affect peoples queue foe the food).

We arrived at Suki-ya and was surprised that it had the longest queue because in my own experience, this shop is quiet expensive buffet which cost more than RM 50 per person, but after I looked at the menu, I realized that it actually had Lunch between 11 am to 5 pm at the price of RM 40.35 nett per person.

This buffet indeed is delicious as there are various of foods available including sushi. But the only things that this branch do not have is pork as Suki-ya made it halal for this branch to target Muslim customers as well. the duration of this buffet is 120 minutes which is 2 hours and we had been eating for almost 2 hours, when the attender notify me that I had 5 minutes remaining. And after that notice, we immediately pay the bills and leave.

Conclusion

If you are thinking of purchasing a luxury or branded products, Pavilion is a perfect places for you to shop. But if you no seeking for branded or expensive products, Pavilion might not be your first choice, but still you can window shopping around this place and then go for a lunch or dinner.
